Paint Correction
Ever heard someone say “ It’ll buff out” when they see scratches or haze in paint? Whether they know it or not, paint correction is what they are referring to!
Paint correction is a process done with the use of a machine polisher, polishing pads, and polishing compounds. Each paint correction job is different, which is why there is an assortment of polishers, pads, and compounds that will work best for each job. The game changer is in knowing what to use, when, and why.
Depending on the condition of the vehicle’s paint, a correction may require multiple passes to remove all spider webbing, deeper scratches, holographs, hazing, and other types of paint damage.
Most damage occurs in the vehicle’s clear coat, polishing removes imperfections by way of heating the surface with friction to remove and blend the existing clear coat together to provide an unmarred, glossy finish. We are quality and vehicle safety oriented so we are sure to measure each panel’s clear coat thickness before we polish to ensure that the clear coat is thick enough to be worked on!
Paint correction can improve your vehicle’s appearance exponentially, it is less thought of that it’s actually increasing the durability of your paint as well!
Each imperfection is a potential rut for microscopic filth to inhabit. When filth is left to sit, it will eat away at the paint and metal below the clear coat, eventually leading to rust. When these imperfections are removed with paint correction, it decreases the rate at which your paint is deteriorating because it re-establishes the integrity of the clear coat leaving a smooth and unified surface. For this reason, it is considered to be more of a maintenance than a beautification. It is understandable to be focused on the looks of the final product though, as they are always something to behold!
